Studied Educational Science and Computer Science at the Universities of Essen and Bochum. She obtained the degree of a Dr. phil in Communication Science and the venia legendi for Computer Science.

She is co-operating with Jürgen Klüver and Jörn Schmidt and is an associated member of the Institute for Computer Science and Business Information Systems (ICB).

At present she continues her research on Soft Computing. One focus is the analysis of the possibilities of Soft Computing techniques for the simulation of economic, social, cognitive and communicative processes.
